New Feature: Add Transactions Using Siri

We're excited to introduce support for Siri Shortcuts in Pixel Budget, making it possible to record expenses and income using just your voice—without opening the app.

Many people want to record expenses as soon as they happen. Although Pixel Budget already offers a fast and intuitive manual transaction entry process, the new Siri Shortcuts integration makes it even faster—you can record transactions without opening the app. Recording a transaction takes only a few seconds.

Simply say:

You: Hey Siri, record expense for Chase Bank.

Siri: Amount slash vendor?

You: 58.40 slash Walmart.

That's it! Pixel Budget adds the transaction to the Pending Transactions list for review and automatically suggests the vendor and category based on your previously approved transactions.

Smart Vendor and Category Recognition

Just like imported bank transactions, transactions recorded using Siri are first added to the Pending Transactions list for review and approval.

During the review process, Pixel Budget automatically recognizes vendors and categories based on your previously approved transactions.

The more transactions you review and approve, the more Pixel Budget learns, making future suggestions increasingly accurate.

A Privacy-Friendly Alternative

Many budgeting apps rely on an ongoing connection to your bank account to synchronize transactions automatically.

If you prefer not to connect your bank account because of privacy concerns or simply prefer to stay in complete control of your financial data, Siri Shortcuts provide a fast and privacy-friendly alternative. Transactions are recorded only when you choose, without requiring an ongoing connection to your bank.

Getting Started

This feature is currently available only on iPhone, as it uses Apple's Siri Shortcuts.

To get started, open the Pixel Budget mobile app, tap the menu icon (☰) in the top-left corner, then select Install Siri Shortcut.

The installation page guides you through the entire setup process, including installing the Siri Shortcut, adding your account token, and renaming the Shortcut.

Try It Today

Once configured, recording a transaction takes only a few seconds. Whether you're shopping, refueling your car, buying groceries, or receiving a payment, simply ask Siri to run the Shortcut, say the amount followed by slash and the vendor or payer, and Pixel Budget will do the rest.

Until now, if you added a transaction with a future date, it appeared on the Transactions page along with all the other transactions. From now on, it will be listed on the new Scheduled Transactions page. When the date arrives, the scheduled transaction is automatically moved to the standard Transactions page. Pixel Budget Progress Update

Development of Pixel Budget is moving forward and the app is getting close to the Private Beta . Recently completed Several pages that don’t require programming have been created and added to the app, including the About , Contact , Terms of Service , and Privacy Policy pages. I also fixed a scrolling issue that occurred in the Android version of the mobile app , so the mobile experience should now be smoother.
